Cold War Era South African Army Witwatersrand Rifles (Cameronian Rifles Sister Regiment) Pipers Sporran

Cold War Era South African Army Witwatersrand Rifles (Cameronian Rifles Sister Regiment) pipers sporran. An unusual sporran based on the sporrans that were used by the Cameronian Rifles. The body flairs to the top and features a very wide cantle that measures 8 1/2 inches across. I've only ever seen two of these and both featured the style of cantle on this one, which I belive were used to replace the Cameronian style cantles which had a back plate on them the cover the upper rear edge of the sporran body. The details are lacking compared to the British Cameronian cantles, but otherwise very similar. The sporran body is older and is probably WW2 era in vintage. Overall good shape. Leather has dried and crack on one side of the sporran body. There has been a repair to one side of the pocket flap and to the two sporran belt fobs. Hair is full and not shedding. There are a few images of these on line for those who wish to see other examples. Overall still very good condition. Will display well. Post Cold War era badge as the Queens crown has been removed from the emblem. Happy to answer any questions.
