British Brown Bess Flintlock 5 Bore Rampart Gun (Antique)

Original Massive British P-1738/72 Brown Bess Flintlock 5 Bore Rampart Gun with Swivel Mounting Yoke. Rampart guns, often called wall guns, were large calibre smooth-bore muskets that were used in the 16th through 18th centuries by defending forces, too heavy to fire from the shoulder they where often rested on a window ledge or wall hence the swivel yoke. The gun is all brass mounted with Brown Bess style furniture of massive size. It has plain escutcheon/thumb plate & 3 brass ramrod pipes, it still retains its original ramrod so often lost over the years. There are some indistinguishable marks on the lock plate, all action is perfect working order & overall very good condition for age. A truly wonderful piece of history. 100% antique & no license is required.
