F/O James (Jimmy) Palmer R.A.F. “New Zealand”
Jimmy flew The Iconic Spitfire in 92 Sqn that was a New Zealand Sqn.
The small photograph shows him in his Aircraft, just below him you can see the top of the letter Q that denotes it was 92 Sqn.
Jimmy left 92 Sqn then flew in Typhoon’s in 485 Sqn (124 wing) From B6 Airfield in Normandy from the 14th June 1944 until 21st April 1945 initially.
The first photograph is actually two the small as mention above the other shows Jimmy with his fellow Typhoon pilots (Jimmy pointed out).
The Second photo is Jimmy with a number of ladies, this was taken as a publicity photo for the N.Z. Herald newspaper (next photo), the lady on the left is his wife.
The next photo is of Jimmy and his wife, he’s in his Mess Dress.
The next photo is of a Winter Ball Invitation to his wife in Edinburgh in 1953.
R.A.F. Turnhouse later became Edinburgh airport as we know it.
