Attributed to Captain Charles Braithwaite Chamley 1871-1911 1st Battalion Seaforths. Son of Thomas Chamley and Jane Parkes. He was wounded at the Battle of Magersfontein in the Boer War and died on service at Barreily in India in 1911. Worth further research. A large Carte de Visite of Capt Chamley is also sold along with the dirk. The dirk presents very well, the gilt bright and the citrines not chipped. The blades are worn and the chape may be missing.
