This is a scale, all metal aluminium model that was made by ALVIS as a presentation piece mounted on a hardwood base, and heavy. This would make a fabulous restoration project for someone, as some of the smaller pieces of it are missing. The size of the model is length 25cm height 11.5cm and width 10.5cm. (Possibly one of a kind?)
The FV104 Samaritan is the ambulance version of the CVR(T). Only 50 were produced for the British Army. In appearance it is similar to the Sultan Command and Control vehicle. It has a crew of two and capacity for three stretchers; being an ambulance it is not armed except for multi- barrelled smoke grenade dischargers.
The aluminium hull on the Samaritan is enlarged to a box configuration to accommodate the crew and 3 stretcher cases or 8 walking wounded, plus 1 medic and the vehicle driver & commander.
The FV104 Samaritan is the British Army armoured ambulance variant of the CVR family. It entered service in 1976, and was manufactured by Alvis plc for the British military.
