Legendary Fighter Aces, Douglas Bader and Adolf Galland dogfight over Northern France in 1941. Released in 1980 this was one of the earliest collaborations between the RAF and Luftwaffe Aces and has become one of the most famous and sought after prints in Robert Taylor’s extensive portfolio. Published as a restricted edition of 1500 prints, what makes this outstanding piece even more rare and desirable is that the signatures of Adolf Galland and Douglas Bader are in ink rather than pencil. Sadly, Douglas Bader’s signature has faded over time and can be barely made out in the second photograph. The print had been personally autographed by both Aces, Generalleutnant Adolf Galland, Knights Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds - 104 victories. Group Captain Sir Douglas Bader, CBE, DSO, DFC - 24 victories. As far as the experts are aware this is the only edition of prints that was personally autographed by both Adolf Galland and Douglas Bader, making it an exceptionally rare and sought after piece.
