WW1 German Army Butcher Bayonet, with Sawback for issue to Pioneer Regiments. With original scabbard minus leather frog by MAUSER. Designed for the GEWEHR 98, blade in very good bright condition for the age. One German inspection markings on the blued pommel, excellent ribbed wooden grips with oil hole and T-O slot. The ricasso of the blade is stamped with the maker’s mark 'WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER A.G. Oberndörf am Neckar’. The spine of the blade is stamped with a crowned ‘W’ over ‘16’ a Waffenampt marking, indicating that the blade was manufactured in 1916, during the reign of Wilhelm II.
