A fine example of a 1796 Pattern Light Cavalry Officer’s Sword, with makers name etched upon locket:-'Johnston’s Sword Cutlers 8, Newcastle St, Strand, London’(1792-1839). The curved single edged blade has the royal coat of arms and George III cypher engraved upon it as well as other decoration. The stirrup hilt retains its triple silver wire binding over leather and is in excellent condition. The black leather scabbard retains its rigidity and has three steel mounts with two suspension rings.
